Shipping Insurance

 

When you choose Atlas Transports to move your vehicle or freight you can have confidence in the fact that you are covered if any damages might occur to your commodity.

By Law, all carriers must carry two forms of insurance.

Preparing your Car for Transport:
Basically all you have to do it treat you car as you would normally, and secure any loose items. Do not pack your vehicle with personal items, as The Department of Transportation "D.O.T" does not allow us to ship cars packed with items for safety reasons.

1. Liability Insurance - This type of policy will cover any damages due to driver error. All our drivers have $1,000,000 worth of liability insurance.

2. Cargo Insurance - This type of policy covers scratches and dents in the car moving process. All our auto shipping drivers have a minimum of $50,000 coverage per car in cargo insurance as required by the "D.O.T." depending on what is being shipped on our trucks, many of our carriers have higher coverage amounts.

When your freight is picked up a thorough inspection is done and the driver and shipper will both sign the B.O.L. indicating any damage the item may already have. Upon delivery the same inspection will be done and any changes in condition should be noted on the B.O.L. If by chance any damage has occurred the driver will provide the contact for the insurance company so a claim can be made.
